If there is one thing that is lacking in the Dubai brunch scene is an option for a specific or individualistic brunch theme. After months of refurbishment, Zheng He’s is back with a bang, offering a new twang with the Beijing Duck Brunch every Friday.
Zheng He’s rebels from the usual brunch norm and offers an exquisite “duck-based tasting dishes, experimental cocktails and table-side duck carving from BBQ Duck Master Yin”. The menu mainly features duck based creations from appetizers to mains as well as duck egg based desserts.
Selection of dim sums with duck liver shumai, crispy spring rolls as well as duck based soup kick starts the brunch.
Hands down, the stellar aspect of the brunch is the sizeable tray of expertly carved BBQ duck with a generous portion of the glazed crispy duck skin by Master Yin. The theatrical aspect of the duck carving within minutes adds to the uniqueness of the duck brunch aspect itself.
Apart for the major duck tasting dishes, the menu caters slow cooked wagyu, lobster and fish on the mains, each with its own distinctive flavor that balances well with serving of garlic fried rice and stir-fry beef noodles.
The dessert platter adopts duck eggs served as a creamy vanilla custard tart along with a delectable and visually stimulating array of sweet treats and portions of fresh fruits with Chinese green tea to finish a fantastic brunch experience.
