The Rib Room | Jumeirah Emirates Tower

The classic New York-esque steakhouse interiors with dim lighting and leather clad seating cushioning the curb booths traverses my memory of my vacation cum road trip in 2014 to the city that new sleeps, New York, where steakhouses marked it’s establishment since the late 19th century.

Revisiting The Rib Room, the famed and highly awarded (both local & international) steakhouse in Jumeirah Emirates Tower, Dubai with an adjoining bar, labeled as The Rib Room Bar resonated memories of that cherished trip.

The menu is sleek and to the point that guides the diner to an ease of decision with sub sections categorized as from the smoker, earth, ranch, pasture, ocean, etc. The restaurant features classic salads, unique appetizers, prime choice of dry-aged cuts, varied selection of popular and creative sides that pairs well with the exquisite selection of succulent grilled meats, prepared to your exact preference, as I experienced. Plus, there’s pork on the menu as well, double win!

My company for the night restricted to the traditional route and opted for a table side classic caesar salad, which the Chef graciously entertained as he prepped the salad and we watched in awe as he skillfully tossed and dressed the crisp lettuce accompanied with thinly sliced sated anchovies and fresh parmesan gratings.

I rebelled from the classics and ordered a smoked liberty duck served with foie gras hush puppies and candid pecan, a delicious combination of the smokiness from the duck balanced with the sweetness of the nuts. A jumbo lump crab cake with avocado, egg and picked pepper gave in a sneak peak of the seafood offerings. As for the mains, it was only right that I order (and devour) sizeable rack of BBQ pork spare ribs.

The robust and freshness of the meal stood out, so did the quality of the steak served to the desired doneness as disclosed by my fellow diner. The succulent saucy ribs slid off the bone while the crab lump was perfectly flavored which made it a delight to savour.

For a steakhouse, I believe The Rib Room has found balance by perfecting the classics and introducing a new take on the usual offerings. Personally, there’s a dish to please all I’d say.

On a side note, The Rib Room restaurant and the bar is on The Entertainer – Dubai for a buy one and get one free experience.
