Always a delight when approached to have your work published and ever more exciting when it’s a birthday issue for a magazine. For BBC Good Food Middle East‘s sixth birthday issue, six talented food bloggers including myself had to dwell back to age six and create a unique cake recipe that resonated our childhood memories.

“The flavors of my saffron and rose petal cheesecake recipe are inspired from my childhood of growing up in the UAE whilst the cardamom represents my heritage of being born as a Mangalorean, as the ingredient is widely used in various confectioneries during the festive seasons. The aroma combination of saffron, rose petals and cardamom creates an amalgamation of taste which compliments the smoothness of the cheesecake
