Afternoon tea also famously known as high tea is my realistic version of tea play time as a child, where instead of plastic tea pots, cups and rainbow painted sprinkles one can lavishly sip exotic tea flavours or enjoy a rich cup of fragrant coffee with an array of pastries and sandwiches.
The Kambaa Lounge at The Address Dubai Marina is such a location where one can recollect cherished memories and experience tea playtime all dressed up in a serene setting whilst enjoying the melodious sounds by the pianist’s live set list. With my dear mother as my guest, we opted for the high tea menu instead of the afternoon tea, as the latter includes pastries with a tea or coffee option without sandwiches. The sizable portions from the high tea menu that won us over in an instance, from the piping hot scones with its crusty exterior but soft texture accompanied with spreads such as lemon curd, fruit preserves, clotted cream, and as a bonus a homemade chocolate-hazelnut spread.
The signature sandwiches are served cold and on soft cuts of white bread with fillings such as roast beef, chicken vol au vents, salmon along with cucumber and cheese sandwiches. The pastry offerings are decadent and indulgent as the taste buds experienced. A few favorites out of the afternoon tea include the most loved cake – a subtle and tangy taste of a lemon cake with black sesame seeds, plain and raisins SCONES and the strawberry tartlets. Other treats include the opera cake, The Address signature cake, caramelized white chocolate macaroons, piquant slices of carrot cake and many more saccharine selections at Kambaa Lounge.
