Overlooking Al Reem Island, Finz Seafood Restaurant the signature poonton-like base wooden seafood restaurant located jetty end of Beach Rotana, Abu Dhabi with mesmerizing views of the crystal clear clean water and captivating blue lights at night radiating from the neighboring establishments island adding to a brilliant dining experience. Almost near to a Mediterranean feel during the day, if I may say so myself.
The gastronomical menu a Finz caters seafood and crustacean mainly of imported options. For meat eaters, weight watchers and for vegetarians, options are offered and well available in the predominantly seafood restaurant.
If it’s not the visual presentation of the plated Scottish smoked salmon to get your taste buds on a roll, it will be the divine smokiness from the rosette shaped smoked salmon paired with not one, but three options as such: chive & crème fraiche, dill pommery mustard, citrus sauce served alongside mini bilinis. Chive and crème fraiche, hands down my favorite out of the three, delicious.
On the other hand, a basic yet sizable shrimp cocktail served with avocado mash, boiled quail eggs with dollops of cocktail sauce provided a taste of freshness.
The overwhelming undertone of the saffron infusion from the lobster bisque enriched with cognac and cream with an eruptive fragrance captivated my senses and my taste buds with one sip of the bisque. A must have, especially if you enjoy the taste of saffron and lobster, of course.
A selection from the mains, the mustardy shade of the perfectly poached cod fillet served with a base of mash potato with a mussel and squid saffron minestrone offered the perfect comforting taste with the soft potato mash paired well with the bite of the fresh cod.
From the grill option at Finz, a seafood mixed grill of a prawn, red snapper, calamari, scallop, tuna, and sea bass served alongside mesclun salad, Jasmine 😉 rice and saffron butter sauce: a wholesome meal. Lathering of the saffron butter sauce is a must to truly enhance the simplistic flavors of the grill seafood. On a downside, the tough texture of the tuna proved a task to savour and devour.
To end a seafood feast of magnitude proportions, a degustation dessert plate with mini taste of the desserts at Finz sadly did no justice to heighten the experience. Nonetheless, a plate worth visual appetizing.
It has to be said, Finz capabilities lies in its presentation and overall knack of serving quality seafood in various cooking style which was well proved with a satisfactory dine in experience.
